New Year, New Start.......

Well, it's been a month since I last 'blogged', but Christmas and New Year, and back to school have completely taken up my time!! (well, I have made plenty more Cheesy Stars though!!).   Anyway, my main aim is to regain my craft area, so I can have somewhere to work without having to put everything away before 3pm!  It has, for the last few months, been given up to be a guest bedroom, and I have been happy to let it go to have friends and family stay comfortably, but I now need to have it back!!!

Recently, I have been brought a fabulous storage cabinet in a dark colour from Ikea (a shop I love to wander around when given the chance!!) but to make it look it's best,  the room HAD to be redecorated!!  We chose a lovely purple colour paint ( my fav colour) and light grey paint (a small sample is on the wall at the end, and I'm sure it'll grow on me!) so today I started the laborious job of painting it!!  Well, two coats of purple later, along with the undercoating of the skirting board, and here it is!!  Stage one has been completed.....

.As you can see, I have a long way to go, and the said cabinet is covered over to protect it from the splashes of purple......the rest of the room (to the left) is soo full of clutter, most of which will have to be taken to the tip which is another laborious job I really don't fancy doing, but as it is mostly my hoarding habit that has got me into this state in the first place, it is down to me to 'get rid'!!!

My other  'New Year starter'  is an allotment, which I am taking over at the end of January.  It's half an allotment actually, but I'm hoping it's not too much for me to handle!!  I'm only planning simple stuff for now, but we shall see...... watch this space!!!

I agree, you have to have a dedicated workspace, and a home for your boxes of inspiration for when you get your creative 'ping'.

  2. Looking good so far - just see the stuff having to go to the tip as a cleansing episode so you can start nice, fresh and clear in your new project area.

The idea behind the challenge is to make us use the camera, have some fun and learn something along the way. No pressure. Have a read and look forward to you joining us if you fancy it. :) Karen
