Half Term finished....

A busy week has come to an end!!  Last Saturday, we got the train up to Manchester to see my eldest son, and onwards to Bangor with my middle son to check out the university there!  It was a verrrry long train ride to Manchester (about 4 1/2 hours!!) in all, and to make matters worse, the earlier 3 trains had been cancelled from Norwich, which meant that our train (bearing in mind it only has 2 coaches!) was overcrowded!  Luckily, instead of trying to squeeze on, we were able to take a later train, so off we went for a slap up breakfast at a local F & B's.  A good start, even though I had packed a picnic enough to feed a small army!!  I was getting slightly worried on the way, seeing the amount of snow that was around!!

Anyhooo, the nearer we got, the less snow was
                                            laying around

Once  we had arrived, got a hire car and off loaded everything to the hotel, we went out round Manchester  city centre being led by eldest son, and wandered round the museum.  Well worth a gander if you're ever up that way!!

Well, after that, a good feed up at a Burito/Taco restaurant which was soo good! Two days later, we pootled  off up to Wales.  We stayed in a hotel in Anglesey, which was really nice,  and we had windows looking out to the sea....

......and a wander around the town found a small garage, with petrol pumps in the street! Haven't seen something like this for years!!

Overall, a really good five days away (we went back to Manchester for one last night)and youngest enjoyed all of it,  but after all of that, the choice of Bangor University was declined by middle son!!!!!!!!  Hey ho, he wouldn't have known if we didn't visit it!!

  3. I'm sure I've encountered a few of those spider crabs at the bottom of Scottish lochs when I've been scuba diving. It's probably warmer looking at them in a museum.

    1. Scottish Princess, when I saw the size of it, I think I'd rather look at it in the museum instead of the bottom of the sea!!! Ha Ha : )

Sorry, think I just deleted....should be back now...
